I am assuming you have moved most /all of your add on scenery to am external drive?įirst of all, if I move all my custom scenery back into actual custom scenery folder in the x-plane folder everything works as it should. The old Xp 11.50 beta forum has discussion on this.īut first, let's get your symlinks squared away. Not to assume anything- what exactly are you symlinking and where are you putting the resulting symlinks?Īlso, you may want to either update or temporary remove the ground traffic plugin from each scenery using it as it can cause crashes. it appears as if the actual scenery folders are still there, except there are errors from XP not being able to find scenery assets. I am not seeing any symlinks in the Custom Scenery folder of your log. I'd created the Simlinks using terminal before but have installed and tried with the tool now. "Addon Scenery" just seems to have a text file in it, four lines, something about FS2XP. I'd removed the nicely ordered scenery packs.ini in case it was the cause of the problem. so your Custom scenery folder should look like:Īirport Scenery symlink ( Meanwhile the actual files are over on your external HD, the symlinks point to them.) You will have to do this for each file you want to symlink. XP will read the symlink as if it's the actual file folder. If you used the tool previously mentioned in the thread for Mac, it will add the symlink option to the right click menu, and after you create the symlink, you move it to the Custom Scenery folder from wherever the physical file is located. I'd say from the look of your log your scenery has not been symlinked correctly and thus XP is unable to find multiple missing assets as noted in the log. You will need to re-order your scenery packs.ini manually (and keep a spare copy when done as a backup!) ![]() In most cases this is not the correct order for loading sceneries. ![]() Your Scenery looks to be in alphabetical order-this usually happens if it has been deleted or corrupted. I do not see this in your log, are any of these files symlinked? In my scenery packs.ini the symlinks look like "Custom Scenery/Airport Name XXX symlink/". Several issues that need to be addressed in there. If the service is checked, then it will appear in the Finder. To do that, open System Preferences, open the Keyboard preference pane, open the Keyboard Shortcuts tab, click on Services, and scroll through the list until you see the "Make Symbolic Link" service. You should also make sure that the service is enabled (sometimes it is by default, sometimes it isn't). The first time, the macOS quarantine window will appear, asking if you really want to run this program you just downloaded from the Internet click “OK”.Ĥ. Run SymbolicLinker once by double-clicking on its icon. Copy the "rvice" bundle that came with this distribution into the Services folder.ģ. If the folder doesn't exist, then make one with exactly that name (without the quotes, of course).Ģ. Make sure there is a folder there named "Services". ![]() Open the folder titled "Library" at the root of your boot disk. You'll notice the directions say, quoting, emphasis mine:ġ. SymbolicLinker runs on 10.9 and newer, and I'm running it on macOS 12.6.2 Monterey so your Big Sur OS 11 is bracketed. ![]() Take a close close look at the Installation Instructions when you click on the.
